Ive thought about this alot as well. Im not a huge fan of the green weapon concept because it usually spells intant over-farm. Plus anything that is green is better when gold lol.
I was thinkin something that was accomplished over time. Maybe new collectible materials that would be used to create an item of some value. Not so much monetary value but something that serves the player. A collector weapon with unique mods?? i dont know, but i understand peoples feelings of having done it all.
Ive always wanted a shield that could be caster modded. Like 20% enchanted +5e. something like that.. you could create some killer monk or ele caster sets.

Titan reward increase has been suggested ;-) and yes, this would be nice to encourge people back into playing these older questlines ;-)

I find it sad that people need a reward to do anything. Having fun is the point of playing a game. If you have fun doing it, why would a reward make a difference?

I have no idea what Sorrow's Furnace rewards because I only went there once or twice (for Moa). From what I saw of it, it's not a fun mission anyways.

Most people don't really have fun playing GW anymore, just grinding stuff for lack of better things to do or for GW2 stuff.

Sorrow's is underground so even the addition of Delver points may make it more attractive to the title grinders. I go back in there regardless, but it does need something to get players back to hanging at War Camp like the good ol' days .

Fun is all well and good, but if I wanted to have fun with no tangible(pixels do count in this case)reward, I would do something outside of the game world. In an RPG you should be rewarded. Doing a place for shits and giggles is only as fun as it is challenging. Sorrows really isnt hard. Switch some stuff up and add better rewards, and it can be a haven for something other than farming.

altho there could be a change to these areas, it shouldnt happen, SF and Titans have only become easier over the years with newskills/heroes/comsumables which would defeat the purpose to making it a bigger reward(a bigger reward is deserved to those that worker harder).
now i propose if any higher reward is added, make these areas or quests non h/h or limited to prophecies skill(i just htink it would be fun) or something.
btw anet, can we go back to topk/SF ? i mean rangers, B/Ps to be specific, revert pet corpses in pve please! gogo 5rangers, mm, orders, LoD hybrid!

Let's be realistic, most people aren't going to want to play 4 year old content for 'fun'. At this point, the most 'fun' people have playing Guild Wars is getting rewards. This stuff may have been fun back in 05/06, but not in 09. At least if SF/ToPK/whatever old content got new rewards, people would actually be playing the content for a bit, rather than both being dead.

Much people like to customize charakters. Get unique items etc to build a cool charakter. Yeh that's an MMO..
So adding better rewards will attract more players. kinda logic IMO

Rewarding gameplay gives a reason to keep on playing, especially seeing as rewards are at the heart of an MMO...some people need to seriously think before making cynical, sarcastic or just malicious comments as more often than not they don't make sense.

Black Moa Chick. Reward added with eotn. In a way it is a reward to those that have all campaigns + eye since it requires them all.
Also making it proph skills only wouldn't work due to 4 non core professions automatically being excluded. (unless they went as a gimp with only secondary skills, doesn't sound too fun)
Back in the old proph only days SF was fun, and the greens were valuable (100k drago's flatbow etc). Old content is old content, no reason to add to it if you want players playing the new content. Players will play old content to collect old stuff for nostalgia purposes.
Also last I remember SF reward chests can drop crystalline swords.

Imagine GW without dungeons, because thats what prophecies was. old content is old as said a few posts up, if your looking for something "new" try EOTN or any SC. because thats about it folks.(aside from pvp)

Because it can be more fun to do some of the harder quests with real people and if the rewards are greater, the more people there will be to get a group going.
Better rewards = More fun.

That logic fails. People then consider EOTN content old(has been 2 years) what do they do? Quit GW. On the other hand, if new items, lets say 100, were added(and they could do friggen design-a-weapon contests and no bullshit us with lack of inspiration) and areas with insufficient rewards got updated in difficulty and drops, I WOULD PLAY OLD SHIT AGAIN! Its not new content, but anything thats new that isnt a minipet would totally get people to do something. TOPK I can clear in a lil over an hour with a 4 mesmer build(me, 3 mes heroes) and would do it again and again if it was worth something. Its not a boring place, its just not worth the time.

Old armor is old but when insignias came out they changed them right ? An end chest is bloody easy to implement and would give those endgame quests and places something . A chain of quests must end in something and those dont , the excuse of "thats how it was and thats how its going to be" is not valid , logic or worth , it can be uset to anything in GW ( therefore there would be no updates , no skill changes , no bugs solved bla bla bla ).

the problem with new items is that if most are weapons they need to be tested with every profession with every armor for clipping issues, which is a lack of interest to them. new comsumables brings balancing concerns to elite areas, they really do lack inspiration/time/money to do this. what they COULD do is work with existing content(maybe obsidian was found in sorrow's furnace so we can farm it from there(like topk has ectos) or during the titan quests, titans have a rare % to drop destroyer weapons or materials for them. only thing topk needs is b/ping to return(make pet corpses in pve exploitable for minions)
old content is old, you dont read a book again expecting it to be writen different, same could apply to a game, prophecies is complete(in some eyes) so it shouldnt be changed(in other words, add stuff to the EXPANSION, thats what they are made for). if your looking for difficulty, suggest a revert of Shadowform, no comsumables and no heroes or challenge yourself. you paid once for a game, its not like you've spent $600 over 4years playing with monthly payments. like you said eotn is 2 years old, maybe it IS time to find a new game or work on the existing content - TITLES if you cant title hunt, then you either dont want to, or you already have, which means you've completed the game. you can start over again(prophecies*no heroes -> factions*no heroes -> nightfall*nf only heroes -> eotn*eotn only heroes) or quit. but its your account, play as you see fit, no one wants you to quit, no one wants you to play.
i wouldnt expect a change nor anticipate or wait for a change. just be grateful for what we get. its good enough that they added 4 chapters and a load of extras. why do we want more?

Insignia was a balance and cosmetic issue(why does he get blah blah armor with any prefix when i cant) an end chest would be easy to add, but i feel it would be outta place with the boss drops. biggest bow skin in the game, non replicatable stats items, most bosses can drop more then 1 unique. besides sf already has a reward, its being called Eternal Conqueror of Sorrow's Furnace.
at least, please not forget that sorrow's furnace was added to the game and its also the first place to introduce greens(which was the reward).
it seems like they add more and more to the buffet but people arnt getting full, they are getting bored of the menu.
